Now that Burial has lifted the hood which shrouded his identity, it looks like the next musical mystery to be solved might concern the Winter League.

Little is known about the Birmingham-based band, although their slow-building laments might sound eerily familiar.

The band have just issued a 4-track CD which features the following songs:

1. The March of the Winter League
2. Dead Leaves
3. O Fading Light! O Gull! O Sea! (Hymn For the Forgotten Coastal Guard)
4. Windfarms

The enigmatic act will reveal themselves in November, when they plan to self-release an album. A tour is also scheduled to coincide with the release.

For now, you can hear three of the above songs, and additional track Fridge Mountain, at the Winter League’s MySpace page, and you can email the Winter League Trust to find out more clues as to the identity of the band.
